"Stage 6"

Project Inspirations and Goals

The main inspiration for the story comes from RiME by Tequila Works. The game follows a young boy who becomes shipwrecked on an island and must navigate his way up a towering structure. The primary narrative element I’m drawing from is its story structure, where each level serves as a metaphor for one of the stages of grief.

For the game’s structure, I’m drawing inspiration from classic The Legend of Zelda dungeon design, particularly its emphasis on environmental progression and puzzle-solving. However, unlike a traditional Zelda dungeon, my game will follow a much more linear path, allowing for a tighter and more intentionally guided player experience.

For the art style, I’m drawing inspiration from the low-polygon visual aesthetics of early PlayStation and Nintendo 64 era games. In particular, I’ve taken visual inspiration for my main character from Cloud Strife, the protagonist of Final Fantasy VII, especially in the way his design uses simple geometry to create a memorable and iconic silhouette.

Here's a video of me problem solving the block pushing mechanic

First, I designed my character in Blender and then I UV wrapped in with the UV wrap that I made in Photoshop
